Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition Florida District
Information for Singers

Here are a few brief information highlights:
- Applications for the QUALIFYING ROUND will be accepted online beginning July 1, 2023 and must be submitted by July 31, 2023, along with your recording of 1 aria. There is no application fee for the Qualifying Round.
- Singers will be notified on September 1, 2023 whether or not they have been accepted to sign up for a DISTRICT competition. If accepted, you may apply to any District you wish, unless it is already full. (Be sure to check the District's Region competition date, too, because if you win you will be required to compete in the corresponding Region.) An application fee will be paid at the time of signing up for a District.
- Singers who won judge-awarded prizes in any of last year's Districts are not required to send videos to the Qualifying Round and simply need to complete their application on Resonance by the deadline. They will be notified of a priority registration date for choosing their Districts.

The FLORIDA DISTRICT Laffont Competition will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024, and our SOUTHEAST REGION competition will take place in Atlanta on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
